If you do not have QuickTime 3.0 or later installed on your machine, open the StarFestival CD-ROM and copy over the QuickTime 4 folder to your hard drive. Once the files are copied over, double-click the QuickTIme Installer which will then guide you through the installation process.
2. Turn off File Sharing.
Under Apple menu, select CONTROL PANELS, select FILE SHARING. Check to make sure that File Sharing is off. If not, press STOP to turn off file sharing. (Note: On older systems file sharing is part of the SHARING SETUP control panel.)
3. Set Resolution and Color Depth.
Under the Apple menu, select CONTROL PANELS, select MONITORS AND SOUND. Set the Resolution to 800 x 600 and the Color Depth to Thousands.
Items 4-7 are recommended for all machines, particularly those that do not have a great deal of memory and/or are running an older OS.
4. Turn off Virtual Memory.
Under the Apple menu, select CONTROL PANELS, select MEMORY. Turn off VIRTUAL MEMORY.
5. Turn off Menubar Clock.
Open "Date & Time" Control Strip and turn off Menubar Clock.
6. Hide Control Strip.
If your Macintosh has the Control Strip installed, open "Control Strip" Control Panel and click "Hide Control Strip."
7. Restart computer.
RESTART your computer to insure that all changes have taken effect.
